幼い頃家にあったナット・キング・コールやルイ・アームストロングのレコードを聴いてジャズ に慣れ親しむ。バークリー音楽院を卒業後、東京に戻りR&BやHipHopなどクラブ系音楽のトラックメイカーとして活動。同時に学生時代より傾倒していたブラジル音楽に吸い寄せられるようにリオ・ デ・ジャネイロへ渡り、ホベルト・メネスカル、ジョアン・ドナートらと共演。ドイツのDJモノフォニック、ルーマニアのエレクトリック・ブラザーら様々な国のクリエイターとのコラボレーションを行う他、テレビCM音楽制作、ラジオ番組音楽、コンピレーションCD制作と幅広い音楽制作を行なっている。ジャズ・ディレクターとしてアル・ディ・メオラやエディ・ゴメス、リオーネル・ルエケら多くのミュージシャンと原盤制作を行ない、数多くのジャズやブラジル音楽の名盤リイシュー企画を監修している。

Hide grew up listening to Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong records at home, which nurtured his early love for jazz. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he returned to Tokyo and began working as a track maker in the club music scene, producing R&B and HipHop. At the same time, drawn to Brazilian music that had fascinated him since his student days, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he performed with artists such as Roberto Menescal and João Donato. In addition to collaborating with creators from around the world-including Germany's DJ Monophonic and Romania's Electric Brother-he has produced music for television commercials, radio programs, and compilation CDs. As a jazz director, he has worked on original productions with many musicians including Al Di Meola, Eddie Gomez, and Lionel Loueke, while also overseeing numerous reissue projects of classic jazz and Brazilian albums.
